As most of you already know, Hank and I recently had an opportunity of a lifetime to travel a part of the world I never imagined seeing. Thanks to Hank and his new job with American Warming we flew over the seas to Europe and Germany. It went by very quickly, but was so amazing. In London we had a fabulous educational time. We visited so many places, The Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, House of Mews, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben (which happens to be the bell not the clock or tower), we rode the London Eye ( the largest Ferris wheel in the world with the most incredible views) and all the popular parks and underground stations which we rode to every place practically. I honestly thought for sure I wouldn't be a fan of the fast pace life of London but I was pleasantly surprised, by the atmosphere and by the helpfulness of all the locals. Not at all what I expected but was so happily taken back by it all.
One of my favorite things about London and Europe's location is how close it is to Italy. I got so entirely spoiled by the phenomenal Italian food I was exposed to. Every chance we got Hank and I stopped in to try a true Italian dish, and honestly we were never disappointed. I thought for sure I would come back even plumper than before but honestly we walked almost everywhere so that seemed to help out a lot. Something that we also found very interesting about the culture and atmosphere of the restaurants there was the fact that in the middle of the coldest, snowiest, bitterest winter that they had been faced with in years people were choosing to dine outside. You heard me right, people made the choice to sit outside at a table with a small blanket as it snowed down on them and there cuisine. I found that to be so strange that it was even an option to do so. Other things that I felt were different from our culture are as follows, trash is referred to as rubbish or rubbage even on the trash cans, everyone in London, no mater how much they had to walk or what the weather was like, they were always dressed to impress, A lot of the words they use that we also use are spelled slightly different usually with just an extra vowel but sometimes the letters were changed like most words that we would spell that include the letter Z were spelled with S' instead, and all the side walks had LOOK LEFT of LOOK RIGHT printed on them so that everyone knew which way the traffic was going since they drive on the opposite of the road ( found this funny that they had to be reminded, but thankful bc I know Hank and I probably could have looked the wrong way a few times but thanks to the large print on the road we stayed clear of all on coming traffic).
After visiting London for a decent amount of time, Hank and I set off to our next adventure by train, destination Salisbury (home of Stone Henge, Salisbury Cathedral, and Old Sarum). Hank will be disappointed if I don't mention something about The Cat Tavern so here goes nothing. The Cat Tavern is a B&B/Dog friendly pub/Luggage stower where we happened to pay to stow our luggage while we were taking the tours of the gorgeous Stone Henge and Old Sarum. What was so strangely fun about this place was the company that you were surrounded by while visiting. As we picked up our luggage to head back to the train station and move towards our next destination something so unbelievable happened. Tim this very interesting guest at The CAT TAVERN (isn't this name so ironic, considering its a dog friendly pub) introduced himself to both Hank and I. As he slightly leaned back and forth off of his bar stool he made mention of my gloves (which happen to be the type that have fingers cut out but have the mitten attached to slide over your fingers when they get cold) I believe is exact words were "Oh how cute, you have a wee lil hat for your tiny fingers" as if that comment wasn't enough I happened to turn my back to Tim to hear what Hank was saying to another gentleman sitting at the bar, un-benounced to me Tim begins running his giant dirty drunken fingers through my hair and patting me on my shoulder. I quickly turned and backed up slowly putting my hands on our luggage and encouraging hank to finish his beer and run. Once we stepped outside I told Hank about Tim's actions he replied with "Are you serious, YES, I have been waiting all trip for a moment like this, my wife was just petted by a random man in a dog friendly pub" I couldn't believe how excited he was to hear that I had been touched by a random person without him even realizing it, but I totally understand I mean how many people can say they have a story so hilarious and to be able to say it happened in Europe just adds to the story!
After trailing through Salisbury and staying in Havant for a few business days we took flight to Germany. We were only in Germany a few short days and most of that time was spent in traveling so we got maybe one full day in Germany and spent it with people from the company. I had a great time getting to know some of the people Hank deal with on a regular basis. Germany was not at all what I expected but I don't think I got a fair shot at it. I didn't like it much because it was beyond cold and the day we left there was 18 in of snow on the ground, not really my cup of tea. I did see the potential for some amazing landscapes but didn't really get the opportunity to view them, thanks to mostly the snow. I was not a fan of the food I found and tried in Germany, I already expected to not be but I was open-minded and did try everything that was offered to me. I really didn't eat much while we staying in Germany so its a good thing it was a short stay!
There is talk of returning to Europe and Germany soon so I cant wait to see what may happen!
I hope this gives everyone a little insight of what we got to experience, I truly hope everyone gets the opportunity to view other parts of the world in their lifetime, its breathe taking to see!
Love always,
Nikki

Halloween, Turkeys, Celebrations and Trips
Its been longer than I was hoping since I last wrote on the blog. I guess life sometimes get consumed with so much its hard to take time to do the things you enjoy. The last time I wrote it was just the beginning of October so I am going to try to quickly fill you in on whats been going on. We have since traveled to Ohio and Nebraka and currently Hank is in Chicago until friday for work. This year bc of traveling so much we didnt have time to make fun costumes for Halloween so we skipped out on dressing up and spent that night at Hanks dads handing out candy and carving pumpkins. It was a great time and it was nice to share the time with family.
Since Halloween we have been busy making lists and checking them twice and not for christmas but rather for all the things that we must accomplish before getting the house put on the market. Let me tell you we have lots of things to get done most small but some so big I am dreading it especially in the middle of winter like putting up a new privacy fence! Anyway, the list is dwindling slowly but surely and each time I get to mark through something that is done I feel a little more accomlished. Let me just tell you in a normal world doing these things wouldnt be too difficult but a month before Christmas, in winter, around all these familly get togethers/holidays and while we are traveling every other week it becomes a bit more challenging.
This past weekend Hank and I got the opportunity to watch one of our favorite little boys all weekend, Brayden Megan Morenos little boy. What a little joy that was! Also Meg me and Hank made an awesome cake for my twin brother and sister for thier birthday celebration that we had on Sunday! Once sunday came along we got to go to Powerplay and have some fun with the twins and some of their friends playing air hockey laser tag arcade games and all sorts of other fun stuff. It was def a good 8th birthday party for them. It seemed like they had a blast. So that made my weekend. I love them to pieces!
On another note Hank is taking me on a trip of a lifetime dec. 1st. how lucky am I that I get to see the world at such a young age. I feel so blessed. Hank is taking me to London and then Germany. I cant wait to take in the different cultures and fun that the different places have to offer and to get to share that with Hank means the world to me. Since Hank has taken the new job at AWV he is getting many opportunities for travel and I have been so fortunate that I get to share that part with him. I have started searching for things to visit while in London and what I have found so far is Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, The London Eye, Stonehenge, and this gorgeous childrens park that was built in honor of Princess Diana. So we will see what else I will find to do! I am going to do all in my power to cram anything and everything that we want to do in the time that we have! I want to take it all in!
This week I am spending my time trying to not focus on Hank being out of town. So I am going to do my best to keep myself busy and just make it through the week. Thanks for stopping by and seeing whats going on my crazy life and I hope I didnt bore you too much. I hope to be back sooner this time. Have a great day and God bless you all!!
Love ya,
Nikki

The Cat is out of the Bag!
Henry officially quit Ruskin friday. Monday he started a new job with a company called AWV located in OHIO. Before everyone freaks out... WE have two years to get our house sold and get moved to ohio but we will eventually be moving there. In the Toledo area to be exact. It could be a few months, one year, or even the full two years, it just depends on how long it takes to get our current house sold.
We recently visited Toledo to feel out the area. Going into this we thought we may want to go for a totally different vibe there. So we took the liberty to check out almost all lofts in the downtown Toledo area. It was a great idea and the fanasty of having a loft for awhile was very appealing and then I came back to reality. What was I thinking, a loft, seriously Kasey! You have a pitbull who needs a yard and your trying to start a family, are you kidding!! So now that I have checked back into reality Henry and I have decided to look into more options as far as living situations for Ohio.
In the mean time, Henry and I will be doing all we can to get our house on the market here in KC so that we can get him closer to work as soon as possible. I am going to really miss all of our friends and family and that has been the hardest part. But I know at the end of the day I know it will be good for Henry and I. Once we move I will be back in kansas city least once a month to visit friends and family, especially my little brother and sister Noah and Nevaeh. So I will still be around and Mike and I will be around for all the major holidays too.
I would love to stay on here and fill you all in a little more but I have a few things to get done today with mike so I will get you caught up some more a little later. I hope everyone is doing well. Love you all God Bless

Flying high....to the future!
Hank and I are about to board a plane as of now I can't really say where to but it's definately a flight that is going to change and alter our life.
So many decisions are about to be made and placed in stone. We have prayed weeks about this trip. We have asked God to take over and guide us where we fit best in our current life. This choice we are making will of course change our lives but this will always change the lives of all of those who are near and dear to us.
My heart is pumping, the adreline is building and my emotions are compariable to a roller coaster. My mind seems as if it's a recorder stuck on repeat saying "all great things take risks, trust in God, be serving to your husband". I am so proud of my husband. Hank is always finding new ways to help us grow and build our future it's certainly a trait I admire in him. One thing that comes w that trait though is a constantly busy life that is not unsteady but always changing which can certainly get old. Fortunately for Hank my love and trust in him overpower my haste and uneasy feeling that I sometimes get from our always changing life.
Soon I will be able to inform everyone of what exactly will be changing but until then I hope to enjoy our trip and I hope that all of too have a great weekend.
God bless

The start of a great weekend
Hank and I are taking Amy's kids, Ethan and Karyn to one of our favorite places on the planet this weekend. We are going on a road trip to the Omaha Zoo, hooray! We get to see everything the zoo has to offer and we get to do it with some of the greatest kids! I am hoping their nursery has some cute new additions and I am excited to see what else might have changed since the last time we were there two years ago. This zoo holds so many memories for me and every time I visit I get the chance to relive them. One of the last things I remember doing with my uncle as a family before he passed away was visiting this zoo. Every time I visit I get this funny feeling of him watching over me and some of the last greatest moments I shared with him. Then when hank and I were first together we got a wild hair at 1A.M. on a Friday morning to take a road trip and landed in Omaha at the zoo. To this day that is my favorite trip we have taken together because it was so spur of the moment and out of character for Hank, it made me feel so special that he would step out of his comfort zone for me! I cant wait to show Ethan and Karyn some of my favorite parts of the zoo and have the opportunity to leave an impression on there memories too! I am so elated that I have such an amazing husband who does all he can to constantly keep me happy and fulfilled. Thank you so much Hank for all the outpouring of love you give to me!
God Bless,
Nikki

Abundant Life Chiropractic and the Goulet's
In the last several months I have worked for the most amazing boss, Amy Goulet at Abundant Life Chiropractor! I have the best time at work and could never have asked for a better opportunity. Amy and her family have become a big part of our family over the past few months its been nothing but a true blessing. I have truly enjoyed getting to know her as a best friend. I LOVE her darling children Ethan and Karyn, they are so precious and very bright for thier ages. Karyn is so cute with her carrot orange hair, she is shy as can be but once you gain her trust she is your friend for life. Ethan is the most outgoing little boy I think I have ever met and already knows so much about what is important in life. My Favorite thing about Ethan is his love for videos games and a magical WII. Then there is Tim, Amy's husband, he too is a great friend. He is best described as a caring outgoing all around good guy who loves the lord immensley. As for Amy she has become like a sister to me. We share so many things in common and its so nice to have someone who is so understanding and honest as a friend and a boss. I learn so much from her and her family and hope that in the coming months and years our friendship only grows. God Bless Goulet Family we love you and feel so blessed to have you in our life!
